New Rhodes
May 31, 2005
It was a messy bank holiday weekend, I'm not sure I can cope with all this tangled feet confusion. First Modey Lemonwith their crazy three-legged debauchery and now New Rhodes too. There are clearly too many bands working in nuclear plants in order to supplement their underpaid rock jobs. What next, legs that bend backwards? http://www.popstarfeets.co.uk/images/thumbs/newrhodes_shoes_thumb.jpgPosted by Helen at 02:18 PM
Ollie from Freefaller
May 23, 2005
Another chance to prove to you that the site's title is appropriate. Ollie from Freefaller is the 12th artist to have been on Popstar Feets and Top of the Pops. I think it's about double for CD:UK but they're less fussy about their guests and I'm not that motivated to count. Good shoes too - Freefaller have the tendency to jump about an awful lot, making these sensible trainers perfect. Cowboy boots may look pretty but as my often blistered feet will testify - they're not very practical. http://www.popstarfeets.co.uk/images/thumbs/ollys-shoes_thumb.jpgPosted by Helen at 10:47 AM
Phil from Cazals
May 20, 2005
Theres a little poem by Frida Wolf where the middle reads ''Bright shoes, white shoes, Dandy-dance-by-night shoes'' and if you've ever seen Cazals live you'll know just what she means. You can't get much whiter than these, Phil must have to wrap them in cotton wool to wear them on the tube. A triumph in cleanliness, especially as this photo was taken in a packed club about 5 hours after they played their set on the other side of the city. A club where I usually spill my whiskey over my feet and come home far less tidy looking than Phil does here. http://www.popstarfeets.co.uk/images/thumbs/cazals-shoes_thumb.jpgPosted by Helen at 03:20 PM
Ryan from Komakino
May 17, 2005
Komakino keep getting written about for their terrorism connections, with the twins in the band being born on September 11th, as well as having songs about planes crashing. These are shoes worthy of crashing a jet in, as a final pair of shoes to wear you can't go far wrong with these beauties. They are truly lovely. So please Ryan, don't take this terorism slant too far and put bombs in the soles of these shoes. http://www.popstarfeets.co.uk/images/thumbs/ryanks-shoes_thumb.jpgPosted by Helen at 01:42 PM
Amy Winehouse
May 15, 2005
When Amy Winehouse released 'Fuck Me Pumps' never, ever did I expect to see her actually wearing pumps. It's like finding out that Paul McCartney does actually live in a Yellow Submarine. Or maybe nothing like that but anyway... What has she been doing in these shoes? They are very very scuffed and frayed aren't they? Maybe she's been shouting 'Fuck Me' whilst stood in a pit of gravel. And for those of you who this week said there weren't any actual popstars on here then screw you - Amy got nominated for a Brit Award. Pah! http://www.popstarfeets.co.uk/images/thumbs/amys-shoes_thumb.jpgPosted by Helen at 05:51 PM
Jarvis Cocker
May 10, 2005
Kicker shoes were responsible for so many arguments in shoe shops with my mother when I was a small kid. They made your legs look like tree trunks but every cool girl wanted them, if you didn't have the rubber tag hanging off your school footwear you might as well have stayed at home. Jarvis Cocker is clearly a cool kid then. He does well on the lack of tree trunk legs, though I'd pay to see him wearing them at the same time as a school skirt with the waistband rolled up. http://www.popstarfeets.co.uk/images/thumbs/Jarvis-shoes_thumb.jpgPosted by Helen at 03:38 PM
Crash Convention
May 03, 2005
In a bit of Popstar Feets family tree fun, last month's Mr Carl Barat famously described this band as a cross between ''the Sex Pistols and the Cheeky Girls''. Shoe wise this would probably mean Crash Convention should be wearing gold stiletto Dr Martens adorned with saftey pins and diamante. I'm a little disappointed they're not. Maybe they're wearing gold lame hotpants underneath those jeans. http://www.popstarfeets.co.uk/images/thumbs/crash-shoes_thumb.jpgPosted by Helen at 04:27 PM
